Gabbard said on Thursday, 'I am happy that Howdy Modi is bringing Indian Americans and Hindu Americans from all over the country.

Before traveling to the United Nations headquarters in New York, Modi will address a rally at a stadium in Houston that Trump has also agreed to attend.

This would be the first time a US President is attending an Indian-American community event with him, PM Modi said.

"I am confident that my visit would present India as a vibrant land of opportunities, a reliable partner and a global leader, and will also help impart new energy to our relations with the U.S.", he said. India imposed higher tariffs on nearly 30 American products in response to Trump's decision to end trade concessions.

"Their success in diverse fields, their contribution to the USA in various walks of life, their strong bonds with India and their role as a living bridge between our two democracies is a source of pride for us", he said.

The Indian PM would be joined by Trump during the event. Over 60 United States lawmakers are expected to attend the event.

Modi, who might be within the US from September 21 to 27, will meet US President Donald Trump and focus on bilateral points, together with numerous commerce pacts, in addition to plans for cooperation within the area of defence and vitality, sources instructed IANS. Taking to Twitter, Gandhi said that India is in an "economic mess" and "no event can hide the reality".

Modi and Trump are expected to meet in NY on September 24 for their third standalone meeting this year.

The US President's remark comes a day after the Washington Examiner, quoting US officials and industry "insiders", on Tuesday said in a report that the two countries were "nearing a trade breakthrough" ahead of PM Modi's visit to the US. At + 1.4 Lakh Crore Rs. the Houston event is the world's most expensive event, ever!

Democratic candidates seeking the party's nomination for the 2020 presidential election include Kamala Harris, whose mother was an Indian-American breast cancer researcher, and Tulsi Gabbard, a Hindu Samoan-American.

"The US had removed India from the GSP programme, which allowed duty-free entry for up to $5.6 billion worth of annual exports to the US, on "lack of reciprocal market access" of US exports in Indian market".

This will be the first time that the two leaders will share a platform during an event together.
